International Pinot Noir Day 4-Pack 2019 Cuvées

Sanguine and salty, this has a delicate, fine abrasion to its fruit tannins, hovering between the skins of golden cherry tomatoes and black cherries. Firm and juicy in the middle, this ends on notes of dried earth and crushed rock - Joshua Greene, Spring 2023

Last of the Pinot Noirs, the 2019 Pinot Noir Stagecoach Road is another Pinot Noir sourced entirely from the estate Fort Ross Vineyard in the northern part of the Sonoma Coast. Possibly my favorite in the lineup, it’s wonderfully complete and has a lovely assortment of red and black fruits as well as foresty, earthy, spicy, and subtle herbal notes that carry to a medium-bodied, flawlessly balanced Pinot Noir. With a solid underpinning of acidity, ripe yet building tannins, and a great finish, I like it today, but smart money is on it benefiting from a year or two of bottle age and easily evolving through 2032. This is another terrific effort from this estate with loads of character.

The 2019 Pinot Noir The Terraces is a more ethereal, perfumed, mineral-laced beauty offering gorgeous light red fruits, dried strawberry, crushed stone, and white flower-like aromas and flavors. Playing in the medium-bodied end of the spectrum, it still brings plenty of intensity as well as structure, and while it certainly has up-front charm today, it’s another wine from this estate that will benefit from a year or three of bottle age and have a long life. It’s beautifully done.

The 2019 Pinot Noir Top Of Land comes all from the Fort Ross Vineyard in the Fort Ross-Seaview AVA in the Sonoma Coast. It’s certainly a more serious effort, with tight, focused aromas and flavors of mulberries and crunchy cherry fruit to go with notes of sappy herbs, crushed stone, and flowers. Beautifully focused, with notable precision and purity as well as solid mid-palate depth, this beauty will benefit from another year or two of bottle age and should see its tenth birthday in fine form. This is another classy, classic, elegantly styled Pinot Noir from this estate that has loads of character.

An elegant, sinewy and textured wine, made from several of the lowest yielding blocks at the highest elevation on the estate, this wine is light and subtle in oak. Pomegranate, raspberry, dark cherry and black tea accent the supple tannins and lengthy spice - Virgine Boone
