2019 "FRV" Chardonnay

92 Points - Wine Spectator
A refined and open-textured style, with spicy richness to the cream-filled white fruit flavors. Pastry accents midpalate lead to buttery notes on the fresh and engaging finish. Drink now through 2025.

92 Points - Jeb Dunnuck
Next up, the 2019 Chardonnay Fort Ross Vineyard showed beautifully, with a clean, crystalline, yet rich, medium-bodied style that delivers beautiful crushed citrus, lemon, white flower, green almond, and spice-driven aromas and flavors. With plenty of density on the palate, it stays remarkably well-balanced and has a great spine of acidity as well as a clean finish. Relatively tight and holding things close to its vest, it will benefit from a year or two of bottle age, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see it still drinking brilliantly at age 10.

2018 Stagecoach Road Pinot Noir

Stagecoach Road Pinot Noir grapes are grown in the vineyard blocks closest to the ocean with some of the darkest soils on the estate and is always our boldest Pinot Noir. This deep ruby-colored cuvée exudes aromas of black raspberry, cassis and plum with warm earth and savory notes. The palate is succulent with layers of black currant, boysenberry, and cherry with beet root, cocoa and spice. The integrated, well-structured tannins carry throughout the long, polished finish that is enlivened with acidity. This wine is drinking beautifully now and will cellar for years to come.

2016 Pinotage

91 Points - Wine Enthusiast
A rare find anywhere in California, let alone the coast, this cross-breed of Cinsault and Pinot Noir shows earthy notes of tree bark and cedar. The elegant frame of soft, integrated tannin allows room for layers of black tea, berry pie and cardamom to take hold and find a seamless core of flavor. - Virginie Boone. August 2021.

90 Points - Wine Advocate
The 2016 Pinotage Fort Ross Vineyard is medium ruby-purple in color with a broody nose of tar, earth and bay leaves with baked black berries and cherries and meaty hints. Medium to full-bodied, it's dark-fruited in the mouth with savory and earthy accents, framed by firm, chewy tannins and lifted by good freshness, finishing long and earthy.
